No. You can start with a guest (demo) session and try the full experience without signing up. Creating an account lets you save sessions permanently, access your history from any device, and generate cover letters.

Yes. MirrorCV is free to use — no pricing tiers or credit card required. Create an account to save sessions, export tailored resumes, and generate cover letters.

MirrorCV uses a two-pass pipeline. Pass 1 parses your resume into structured JSON (contact info, experience, skills, education, projects, etc.). Pass 2 compares your profile against the job description and generates optimized bullet points, section reordering, and keyword alignment. All changes are presented as suggestions you control.

MirrorCV currently accepts PDF resumes up to 10 MB. DOCX and TXT support is planned for a future release. We recommend uploading a clean, text-based PDF for the best parsing accuracy.

Most runs finish quickly, and deeper tailoring can take up to two minutes. You will see real-time status updates in the workspace while the AI parses and optimizes your resume.

After you upload a resume and add a job description, the system extracts structure and content (Pass 1), then maps your profile to role requirements and prepares targeted bullet rewrites (Pass 2). You will be taken to the workspace automatically when results are ready.

Yes. Each upload creates a new session. You can view and manage all your sessions from the Dashboard under Recent Sessions.

Open a session from your Dashboard. The workspace shows a split view: your original resume on one side and AI-suggested changes on the other. Each changed bullet is highlighted so you can see exactly what was removed and what was added.

The split view displays your original resume alongside the AI-optimized version. Changes are highlighted in red (removed) and green (added) at the word level, so you can instantly see what was modified.

Each suggestion has action buttons: Accept (apply the change), Revert (keep the original), and Edit (modify the text in your own voice). Edits are saved automatically to your session.

Revert restores the original version of a specific bullet or section. It does not affect other accepted changes. You can revert any accepted suggestion at any time before exporting.

Yes. Click the edit icon on any suggestion to rewrite it inline. Your edits are saved automatically and included in the final exported resume.

An iteration represents one round of AI suggestions for a given resume and job description. You can run multiple iterations for the same session if you want to explore different rewriting angles.

MirrorCV offers 14 templates including Modern Professional, ATS Standard, Academic CV, Bold Impact, Career Change, Classic Professional, Compact Professional, Creative Professional, Entry Level, Executive Leadership, Premium Minimal, Sidebar Accent, Technical Specialist, and Visual Modern.

The ATS Standard and Modern Professional templates are optimized for applicant tracking systems. They use clean, single-column layouts with standard fonts and minimal formatting to maximize parseability.

In the workspace, click the template selector (usually in the top rail or export flow) to preview and switch templates. Your content updates automatically to match the new layout.

Click Export in the workspace, choose Resume or Cover Letter, select your preferred template, and click Download. The PDF is generated server-side using Playwright and delivered as a formatted A4 document.

MirrorCV automatically scales content to fit a single A4 page while maintaining readability (minimum 8 pt font). This is the standard expected by most recruiters and ATS systems. If your content is very long, it may naturally span two pages.

MirrorCV generates a tailored cover letter from the same resume and job description context used for resume edits. The AI references your experience, skills, and the role requirements to craft a relevant letter.

Yes. After generation, you can review and edit the cover letter in the workspace before exporting it as a PDF.

Use the Export modal in the workspace and select Cover Letter. Choose a template and download the PDF.

Click Sign Up on the landing page or in the dashboard. You can register with email and password, or use Google or LinkedIn OAuth for faster sign-in.

Yes. MirrorCV supports OAuth login via Google and LinkedIn. Click the provider button on the login page to authenticate.

Open the user menu in the top-right corner and select Preferences. From there you can update your profile information, subject to account verification requirements.

Email notifications keep you updated about your sessions, such as when processing completes. You can toggle this in Preferences under Account & Settings.

Auto-save automatically stores your workspace edits as you work. For authenticated users, edits are synced to the server. For demo users, edits are saved to your browser's local storage.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, we aim to remove your personal information from our active systems. See our Security page for details.

Demo mode lets you try MirrorCV without creating an account. You get the full upload, processing, and editing experience in your browser.

In demo mode, your work is saved only in this browser and cannot be accessed from other devices. Creating an account lets you save sessions permanently, access your history anywhere, and generate cover letters.

Demo edits are stored in your browser's local storage. To keep them permanently, sign up for an account before closing the browser or clearing cookies.

Make sure your file is a PDF under 10 MB. Scanned image-based PDFs may not parse well. If the issue persists, try converting your document to a text-based PDF first.

Most jobs finish within two minutes. If processing seems stuck, refresh the page — your session status will update automatically. If it remains stuck, try creating a new run.

Ensure you have provided both a resume and a job description. The AI needs both to generate targeted suggestions. Also check that your resume parsed correctly by reviewing the original side of the split view.

Try switching to a different template. Some templates handle certain content layouts better than others. The ATS Standard template is the safest choice for maximum compatibility. If text is cut off, your content may be too long for a single page.

Your access token expires after 15 minutes for security. If you are active, the app refreshes it automatically. If you were idle, simply log in again. Your work is saved on the server for authenticated users.
